OUR STORY

Archway Stores carry’s a huge range of everyday goods at heavily reduced prices. Everything from tools to household, we have interesting, unexpected products, not often found elsewhere.

Founded in 1991 in a small tin shed behind Access 3 and Kilkellys TV shop in Castlebar, Co.Mayo the store was one of the first discount stores to open in the town. Goods stocked by the tiny pop up shop ranged from stationery to tools to toys.

After three successful years of trading in Castlebar the discount store relocated to where it still stands today on Main Street. Suitably the shops entrance is located under the archway adjacent to Mick Byrnes Bar. Conveniently located in the Castle Street car park there is nothing else like this quirky discount store. In 2001, in addition to our Main Street Store, a new retail outlet was opened on Sir Ernst Chain Road, in the Moneen Industrial Estate. Archway Homestores became a sister store of the original Archway Stores to date employing over 22 staff in total. As of May 2022, we opened a brand new store in Westport. Located on the Castlebar road this is Archway Stores' third location!
